Airport Rescue Fire Service
Dunedin Airport has an Airport Rescue Fire Service operated by the airport company. This unit provides an airport emergency response service compliant with Civil Aviation Rules.
The team is made up of a Chief Fire Officer and 5 Airport Fire Officers.
The fire officers are trained to manage first aid and provide Pre Hospital Emergency Care (PHEC) as a first response situation in the terminal and are an invaluable asset to the airport community.
School and community groups are regular visitors to the airport and many youngsters are treated to a call to rescue fire as a part of their visit.
New Zealand Police
The New Zealand Police have a presence at the Dunedin International Airport. Whether helping with a lost passport or assisting in upholding the law they are a valued member of the airport community.
